PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Star Dust (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Keosayan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dust's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, For Heavy Metal we will die!. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Star Dust!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergey Keosayan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dust rushes Keosayan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Keosayan.

Keosayan pulls guard effortlessly.
Dust is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dust is working Keosayan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Keosayan pulls Dust in close to his closed guard and prevents Dust from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dust working some strikes from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dust throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Keosayan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Keosayan trying to keep a closed guard but Dust is proving a slippery customer.
Dust wants to control from the top but Keosayan keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dust is really struggling to control Keosayan but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Keosayan is trying to control the position but Dust postures up.

Keosayan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dust slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Dust trying to control the position but Keosayan is working away.
Keosayan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dust wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dust is looking to take a break and control but Keosayan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Keosayan tries to improve position but can't.
Keosayan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Dust off and has taken his back!
Dust tries to escape the position.
Dust trying to get back to his feet but Keosayan is in full control for now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Keosayan is riding his opponent, not letting Dust buck him off.
Keosayan wants to control but Dust is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Keosayan has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Dust's body.
Keosayan struggling to keep hold of the position.
Keosayan is punishing Dust with some ground and pound.
Dust tries to escape the position.
Keosayan softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Keosayan throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Dust!
Dust is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dust breaks Keosayan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Dust passes into half guard.
Dust is nestled in close to Keosayan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dust thows a huge punch but Keosayan dodges it nicely.
Keosayan is pressing down on Dust's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Dust works over Keosayan with some ground and pound from guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Keosayan has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Dust should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Keosayan has tightened it up now! Dust should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Sergey Keosayan!
An out of breath Sergey Keosayan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
