The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson rushes Vernez and presses him up against the cage.

Jackson is pressed up against the cage. Vernez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackson down to the mat. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Vernez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vernez moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.
Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vernez shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.
Jackson throws out a leg kick but Vernez moves out of range and Jackson only half commits.
Vernez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jackson.
Vernez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vernez, pushing him back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jackson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vernez is trying to pull guard but Jackson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Crackson Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Vernez.

Jackson creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Vernez's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Vernez drops to his knees and Jackson pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
