Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gary Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Smith!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Adams closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage.

Adams successfully pulls guard.
Adams trying to control the position here.
Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Adams is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams working a defensive guard here.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Adams is retaining full guard.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Adams looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Smith throws a strike but Adams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adams in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Adams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Adams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.

Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Adams engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Adams distracts Smith with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Smith is trying to control the position but Adams postures up.
Adams trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Adams stops Smith from standing up.
Adams showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Adams.
Smith wants to stand up but Adams is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A head kick misses from Adams.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Adams is pressing down on Smith's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Smith throws a strike but Adams rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Smith trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Adams stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position.
Adams trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.

Smith working for a triangle but Adams defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Adams from controlling successfully.
Adams is really struggling to control Smith but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Adams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Adams got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adams has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Adams drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Adams off! Adams jumps back into Smith's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Adams is controlling him.
We've been informed that Smith has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Adams wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Adams moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Adams enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Adams manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Smith trying to control but Adams is working from the bottom.
Smith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary Adams dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Adams tries to clinch
and Adams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jeremy Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Smith thuds a left hand into Adams's body.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
We've been told by Adams's head coaches at Abobomination Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
A shot to the body from Adams misses
and Smith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Adams thinking.
Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Adams.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Adams takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith lands a two punch combo.
Adams takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Smith throws a series of strikes that have Adams backpedaling.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.

Adams makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Smith!
Adams just misses with a punch to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Adams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard.

Adams has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Smith is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Adams yanks on the arm and Smith is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Adams.
