Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elroy Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Haapsalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willy Haapsalo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Elroy Dyer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elroy Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Willy Haapsalo!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Haapsalo looking to score a takedown here. Dyer is defending well but Haapsalo drives through and ends up in Dyer's guard.

Haapsalo drops back looking for a leg! Dyer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dyer manages to kick Haapsalo off! Haapsalo jumps back into Dyer's guard.

Haapsalo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Haapsalo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dyer is pulling down on Haapsalo's head to control his posture.
Haapsalo passes Dyer's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Haapsalo is looking to take a break and control but Dyer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyer wants to get back to full guard but Haapsalo has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Haapsalo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dyer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Haapsalo but great work by Dyer.

Haapsalo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dyer is working away from the top position though.
Haapsalo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dyer scores with a couple of nice shots.

Dyer is nestled in close to Haapsalo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Haapsalo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dyer pinned against the cage. Dyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

It looked like Dyer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Haapsalo enables Dyer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Haapsalo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Dyer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dyer is in close to Haapsalo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dyer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Haapsalo on the ground.
