The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Meen.

Meen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Karlsson.
Karlsson throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Erik Meen has been cut.
Karlsson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

And Meen responds with a good body kick, but Karlsson manages to step out the way in time.

Meen told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Karlsson tries to throw a body punch but Meen avoids it by throwing Karlsson back against the cage.

Meen lands a nice shot to the body.

Karlsson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Meen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Karlsson. Karlsson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Karlsson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Karlsson throws a lazy right hand but Meen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Karlsson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Karlsson throws out a leg kick but Meen moves out of range and Karlsson only half commits.

Karlsson drops Meen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Meen looks back up at him and smiles so Karlsson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Meen is rocked!

Meen is still on wobbly legs! Can Karlsson finish him?
Meen swings away with a leg kick that misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Karlsson.
Meen seems to have recovered his senses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Karlsson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Karlsson is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Meen flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Meen is out cold! Karlsson holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

In his post fight interview, Karl Karlsson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
