The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wei takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Wei misses with a hook.
Jab by Lord.
Wei on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lord. Lord obviously looking to wear him down.
Wei moves out of range of the body kick.
Lord throws a hook to the side of Wei's head but Wei sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lord takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Wei lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like William Lord has been cut.
Wei takes one to the chin there.
Lord takes a head kick and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wei blocks the body kick.
Lord lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice defenses there by Lord.
Lord thuds his shin into the meat of Wei's side.
Wei falls off balance throwing a combination
and Lord counters with a nice low kick that buckles Wei's knee momentarily.

Wei throws out a powerful jab.
Lord connects with a body shot that sends Wei's belly button to the back.
Lord connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Lord is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Wei connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lord thuds a left hand into Wei's body.
Wei lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Wei lands a body shot.
William Lord is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wei throws a low kick but Lord moves out of range easily.
Lord cracks the inside of Wei's front leg.
A jab from Lord misses.
Lord walks into a left hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wei throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Wei throws the kick towards the body but Lord avoids it.

Lord misses the body punch
and Wei counters with a nice leg kick.
Wei tries to land a front kick but Lord steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Wei takes one on the button.

Wei closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lord quickly recovers to half guard.
Lord manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lord tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wei is pushing down on Lord's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lord is fighting to maintain full guard but Wei has managed to sneak the leg through.
Lord tries to roll over but Wei keeps him under control.
Wei not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Wei is thwarting Lord's attempts to control the position.
Lord won't allow Wei to pass to mount.
Lord is trying to maintain the position but Wei is very close to passing his half guard.
Lord gets back to full guard.
Lord looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wei is one step ahead there.
Wei chips away with some ground and pound.

Lord looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wei pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lord is keeping the position for now.
Wei trying to control the position from guard on top but Lord is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lord tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wei tries to free his leg and advance position but Lord is retaining full guard.
Wei forces his way into half guard.
Lord won't allow Wei to pass to mount.
Lord is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wei scores with a couple of nice shots.

William Lord's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Wei prevents Lord from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

An inside leg kick from Lord misses.
Lord throws a wild body kick that Wei sees coming a mile off.
Lord loads up on a big right hand but Wei slips the punch.
Wei lands a jab to the nose.
Wei throws a lazy head kick
and Lord counters with a nice low kick that buckles Wei's knee momentarily.
Lord fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lord fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Lord works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A quick step to the side and Lord tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wei misses with a body shot
letting Lord counter with a right hand.
Wei throws a hook but Lord avoids it easily.
A good leg kick by Lord.
Wei throws a jab when Lord was well out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wei looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

A head kick misses from Wei.
Lord buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Wei getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Lord takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Jeez, William Lord's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Lord lands with an uppercut that bounces Wei off the cage and back into range.
Wei is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lord.
Wei fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lord has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Wei drops Lord with a left right combo! Wei follows him down to the ground into side control.

Lord is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at William Lord's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
