Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coleman Mooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Gracias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernando Gracias has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Coleman Mooney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fernando Gracias!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mooney drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gracias looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Gracias manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mooney's best efforts.
Mooney content to control rather than advance.
Mooney sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gracias defending well though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mooney seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Gracias has recovered full guard.
Gracias wants to stand and escape but Mooney is having none of it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mooney closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gracias to the mat! Gracias manages to get full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mooney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mooney stands up over Gracias, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mooney postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mooney controls from within his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mooney throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracias works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mooney manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gracias on his heels. He'll look to pass Gracias's guard now, I'm sure.

Mooney gets to his feet. Gracias looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Gracias gets caught napping as Mooney dives in and scores a takedown. Gracias manages to retain guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mooney stays in close to Gracias's body and controls the position.

Gracias is working an open guard so Mooney takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gracias shoots in for a takedown but Mooney shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mooney seems to be looking for submissions.
Gracias tries to get to full guard but Mooney has control of the leg.

Mooney is looking for a kimura but Gracias is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mooney to get the leverage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mooney tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracias sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mooney somewhat.

Mooney shoots in but Gracias avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gracias dives in for a single leg takedown but Mooney sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mooney shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracias's guard.

Mooney is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracias has wrist control.
Gracias takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mooney is defended easily by Gracias.

Coleman Mooney showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mooney, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
