PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jarvis Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Agaga Lalala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Agaga Lalala was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jarvis Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Agaga Lalala!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lalala closes the distance and pushes Booth back into the cage.
Lalala keeps control of Booth as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lalala breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Booth fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lalala sprawls well initially but Booth persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Booth trying to control from half guard but Lalala is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lalala desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lalala is not content to let Booth control the position.
Booth missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lalala can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lalala is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lalala is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Booth wants to control but Lalala is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lalala wants to stand but Booth has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Booth gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lalala thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lalala drops an elbow to the side of Booth's head.

Lalala content to control rather than advance.
Lalala winds up and cracks Booth with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Agaga Lalala has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lalala is controlling the pace.
Booth is looking for a sweep. Lalala is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lalala drops an elbow to the side of Booth's head.

Lalala is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Booth taking some punishment here, with Lalala in his half guard.

Lalala looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lalala looks to land a strike but Booth avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Booth is trying to keep Lalala in close.
Lalala's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lalala slips nicely into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lalala connects with a nice short shot to Booth's temple.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lalala is pressing down on Booth's thigh, looking to free his foot. Booth is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Agaga Lalala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Booth shoots for a takedown but Lalala saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lalala is looking to clinch but Booth is avoiding it.

Lalala drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Booth is trying to control Lalala's posture but Lalala avoids it.
Lalala is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Booth's shoulder. That is not cool.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lalala connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Booth some visible discomfort.
Booth wants to control but Lalala postures up.
Lalala controls the position.

Lalala is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Booth has escaped the position, nice work there.
Booth struggling a bit here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Lalala's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Lalala looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Booth is avoiding damage well.

Lalala is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Booth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Booth on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Lalala working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Booth manages to get back to half guard.

Lalala works his way into full mount!

Lalala looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Lalala lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Booth hang on?


Booth is rocked!
A big strike lands for Lalala! That's really hurt Booth and he's turned his back - Lalala keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Lalala jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Agaga Lalala!
