Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saenz drives through with a takedown into Atkins's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Saenz trying to control but Atkins is working from the bottom.
Saenz postures up in Atkins's guard and throws a big left but Atkins blocks it.
Saenz throws an elbow that misses. Atkins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Saenz's guard. Nice move by Atkins!
Saenz throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Saenz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Atkins is controlling him.
Atkins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Atkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Atkins wants to control from the top but Saenz keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Atkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Saenz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saenz can't do much from the bottom here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Saenz sneaks out the side door and pushes Atkins away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Oooh a lovely combination from Saenz sends Atkins down but not out. Saenz dives into side control looking to finish.
Atkins is rocked!
It looks like Shannon Atkins has been cut.
Saenz stands up.
Oh Atkins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saenz closes the distance looking for a takedown. Atkins stuffs it but Saenz still has hold of him. Saenz picks Atkins up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Saenz slams Atkins to the floor and that's really hurt Atkins - he doesn't know where he is! Saenz throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
