PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bernhard Adelhard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartek Pietrzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Adelhard might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Godsmack - I Stand Alone. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Adelhard there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Adelhard moves in looking to clinch but Pietrzak pushes him off.

Adelhard went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Bartek Pietrzak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adelhard scores with a sloppy right hand. Pietrzak should have avoided that one.
Adelhard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pietrzak. That did some damage!

We've been hearing good reports from Adelhard's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A lazy body kick from Pietrzak

and Adelhard moves into the clinch.

Adelhard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pietrzak takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Adelhard connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Adelhard doesn't manage to clinch there - Pietrzak circles away.
And Pietrzak tries to counter it with a takedown but Adelhard pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Pietrzak has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Adelhard finds it's way round the side to connect with Pietrzak's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Adelhard shoots in looking for a takedown. Pietrzak tries to sprawl out of it but Adelhard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pietrzak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bernhard Adelhard will probably get the nod.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pietrzak content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Adelhard has locked up a guillotine! Adelhard's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Pietrzak is holding on here and Adelhard must be using up a lot of energy. Pietrzak has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Adelhard gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
