Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Neer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sakryugi Hontedai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Sakryugi Hontedai enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Neer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sakryugi Hontedai!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Chris Dean and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hontedai misses with a takedown attempt
and Neer counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Neer lands with a nice body punch.
Sakryugi Hontedai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hontedai goes for a double leg but Neer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Neer continues to drive forward.
Neer appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Neer looks to land a combination but Hontedai avoids it well.

Hontedai shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Neer is trying to defend but Hontedai finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hontedai cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neer is in all sorts of trouble here.
Neer is bucking up trying to escape but Hontedai cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sakryugi Hontedai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Neer looks to land a combination. Hontedai sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Hontedai is nestled in close to Neer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Oh Neer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hontedai loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Neer scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hontedai land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hontedai stands and salutes the crowd.
