Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Mcconnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Dupa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcconnell enables Dupa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcconnell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Mcconnell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mcconnell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Dupa stands and throws Mcconnell's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mcconnell tries to bench press Dupa off him but Dupa keeps the position.
Dupa in side control lands a decent elbow.
Dupa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dupa scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Mcconnell is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Dupa can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
