The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop misses with a jab to the body
and Patton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Patton throws a leg kick but Bishop checks it.

Bishop clinches up with Patton and pushes him back against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Bishop as the two fighters clinch.
Bishop tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Bishop lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Patton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bishop pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bishop tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Patton was well out of range. Poor timing from Bishop.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bishop has closed the distance and engaged Patton in a clinch.
Patton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bishop to keep the fight standing.
Bishop lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Patton is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bishop gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
I was talking to Bishop's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Bishop lands an elbow that stopped Patton in his tracks for a moment.

Patton has Bishop pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bishop manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
