PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earnest Zimmerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Ace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Earnest Zimmerman has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Earnest Zimmerman seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ace manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zimmerman on his heels. He'll look to pass Zimmerman's guard now, I'm sure.
Ace must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ace is working Zimmerman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Ace sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zimmerman's guard.

Ace pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zimmerman enables Ace to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zimmerman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ace makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Zimmerman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ace defends it well.

Zimmerman wants to work for an arm triangle but Ace is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Zimmerman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ace is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ace has escaped and now he's on top!

Ace feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zimmerman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ace got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zimmerman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ace has managed to get both his arms back between Zimmerman's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Earnest Zimmerman.
Well Ace has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
