Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elvis Herring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Usa Patriot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patriot instigates a clinch.

Herring escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Patriot scores with a takedown into Herring's guard.

Patriot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Herring has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Patriot has managed to get both his arms back between Herring's legs - danger averted.

Herring throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Patriot postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Patriot tries to score with some ground and pound. Herring controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Patriot takes a little break here. Herring wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Patriot looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Patriot trying to control the action but Herring is working from the bottom.
Herring is looking for a sweep.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Herring avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Patriot.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Herring is trying to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Herring tries to score a power double leg takedown but Patriot sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Herring somewhat.

Patriot gets in close and instigates a clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A frustrated look appears on Herring's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Herring pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Herring shoots for a double leg takedown but Patriot sprawls well. He's pushed Herring's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Patriot wants to counter with a clinch but Herring pushes him away.
Patriot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Patriot wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elvis Herring. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Herring shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Patriot pinned against the cage. Patriot gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Patriot rushes Herring and presses him up against the cage.

Herring tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's time! Herring's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Patriot lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Patriot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Patriot bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Herring is trying to get back to his feet.
Patriot should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
You can see the frustration on Herring's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Patriot is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Herring has escaped the position, nice work there.
Patriot wants to control but Herring is keeping him busy.

A looping hook to the body misses from Patriot. Herring does a little dance to reset his feet.
Herring really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Herring gets tackled into the cage by Patriot. Patriot maintains the clinch.
Herring wants to break free but Patriot has control.
Herring tries to pull guard but Patriot forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Herring wants to stand but Patriot is controlling his posture from full guard.

Herring is in close to Patriot's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Patriot has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Herring can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Herring controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Patriot feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Usa Patriot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Patriot gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Herring controls Patriot momentarily but Patriot frees himself.

Patriot stands and steps away. Herring gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Patriot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Herring sprawls well initially but Patriot persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patriot gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Patriot decides to stand back up. Patriot steps back and let's Herring get back to his feet.

Patriot closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Patriot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Herring is just riding it out for now. Patriot eventually gives up the hold.

Well Patriot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
