The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer throws a body punch but Joyce moves out of range.
Chad Joyce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joyce rushes Spencer and presses him up against the cage.
Spencer goes for a takedown attempt but Joyce pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Joyce misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spencer appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Spencer dodges the punch combination from Joyce.
Joyce jabs Spencer right on the nose. Spencer blinks but takes it well.

It looks like Lawerence Spencer has been cut.
A nice leg kick lands there from Joyce.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spencer avoids a punch combination nicely.
Spencer half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Spencer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Joyce is out of range.
Joyce lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spencer circles away quickly and effectively.
Joyce lands a brutal head kick. Spencer looks out on his feet and Joyce throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

A relieved looking Chad Joyce thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
