Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thorn Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black has chosen Enter the Sandman as his entrance music. Thorn Black has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thorn Black!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Black is pressed up against the cage. Lesnar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Black down to the mat. Black avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Black moves into the clinch.
Lesnar jumps guard but Black stands there with Lesnar around his waist. Lesnar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lesnar tries to pull guard but Black won't allow it.

Black throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lesnar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lesnar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lesnar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Black has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lesnar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Black.

Black looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

A close round but Thorn Black will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lesnar circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck for Black with that takedown attempt.
Lesnar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Black pinned against the cage. Black gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lesnar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Lesnar's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Black tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Black tries to work over Lesnar's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Lesnar tries to roll over but Black keeps him under control.
Black passes to full mount!
Black tries to control but Lesnar wriggling away.
Lesnar slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Black prevents Lesnar from improving his position.
Lesnar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Black's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Black's back!

Lesnar is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Black knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Black for a finish.
Lesnar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

In his post fight interview, Brock Lesnar started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
