Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benny Barton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Belcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gregory Belcher has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Barton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregory Belcher!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belcher throws a lazy right hand but Barton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Barton seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Barton wants to clinch.

Belcher shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Barton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Belcher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Belcher engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belcher trying to control but Barton is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Belcher stopping the sweep attempt from Barton.
Belcher controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Barton wants to stand but Belcher is controlling the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Belcher trying to control the position from guard on top but Barton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Belcher fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Belcher shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barton as he jumps to the side.

Barton scores with a takedown into Belcher's guard.
Belcher pulls Barton in close to prevent any damage.
Let's hope that Belcher has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Belcher keeping full guard, as Barton tries to pass.
Belcher manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barton manages to get himself to full guard.

Belcher tries to free his leg and advance position but Barton is retaining full guard.
Belcher wants to control from the top but Barton keeps moving.

Belcher drops back looking for a leg! Barton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barton manages to kick Belcher off! Belcher jumps back into Barton's guard.
Barton is trying to keep Belcher in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Belcher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Belcher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Belcher is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Barton controls Belcher momentarily but Belcher frees himself.
Barton keeping moving, preventing Belcher from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barton being controlled here, momentarily.
Barton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Belcher shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Barton napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Barton sneaks out the side door and pushes Belcher away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Belcher closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barton quickly recovers to half guard.
Barton tries to kick Belcher off in order to stand up. Belcher Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Belcher is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Belcher tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Belcher has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gregory Belcher will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Barton shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Belcher is holding on to half guard well.
Barton wants to control but Belcher is keeping him busy.
Barton trying to pass the guard but Belcher defending well.
Belcher has his hands clasped together around Barton's back. He's all about the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belcher is staying active underneath Barton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Belcher is controlling Barton's trapped leg to prevent Barton from advancing to side control.

Belcher trying to control but Barton postures up.
Belcher slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Belcher is pulling down on Barton's head to control his posture.

Belcher throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Belcher is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Barton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Belcher looking for a guillotine here but Barton defends easily.
Gregory Belcher has got the better of the ground game so far.

Belcher is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Barton frees his head nicely. Oh but Belcher has switched to an armbar! Barton is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
