PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Alfredo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wyatt Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Alfredo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wyatt Storm!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alfredo as he jumps to the side.
Alfredo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Storm dives in and grabs Alfredo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alfredo pushes down on Storm's head and hops out.
Alfredo throws a nice looking combination but Storm bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Alfredo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Storm napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Storm struggling a bit here.
Storm is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee asks Alfredo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Alfredo prefers to stall for the moment though.
Storm is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Alfredo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Alfredo prevents Storm from improving his position.
Alfredo wants to free his trapped foot but Storm is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Alfredo trying to control the action but Storm is working from the bottom.
Alfredo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Storm on the ground.
Storm is looking to control Alfredo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Storm avoid being mounted?
Alfredo wants to free his trapped foot but Storm is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alfredo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Storm is defending against the submission attempts here by Alfredo.
Storm wants to control but Alfredo is keeping busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Storm moves into the clinch successfully.
Alfredo jumps guard but Storm stands there with Alfredo around his waist. Alfredo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alfredo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Storm has him pressed against the cage.

Storm breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Alfredo looking to stall.
Storm is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alfredo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Storm manages to break the clinch.

Storm shoots in and gets a takedown into Alfredo's guard.
Storm engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Storm's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Storm decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Storm scores with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wyatt Storm dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Alfredo tries to clinch but Storm moves out of range.
Storm tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Alfredo defends well and Storm ends up having to push Alfredo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Storm avoids the head kick by Alfredo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alfredo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jose Alfredo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alfredo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alfredo showed some decent athleticism there.

Storm kicks Alfredo off and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Storm circles away from the clinch attempt.

Storm moves into the clinch successfully.

Storm successfully pulls guard.

Storm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alfredo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Alfredo is fighting to break Storm's control of his arms but Storm is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Alfredo wants to control from the top but Storm keeps moving.
Storm wants to get back to his feet but Alfredo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Storm has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Alfredo trying to control but Storm is working from the bottom.
Storm throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Storm fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Storm swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Storm shoots in looking for a takedown but Alfredo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Storm's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Alfredo changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Alfredo throws a head kick that misses.
Alfredo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Alfredo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Storm is not content to let Alfredo control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Storm wants to get back to full guard.
Alfredo drops an elbow to the side of Storm's head.
Storm is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alfredo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alfredo's back!
Alfredo looking very determined here, making life difficult for Storm.
Alfredo rolls, trying to escape but Storm keeps control of the position.

Storm has managed to slip his arm under Alfredo's chin. This could be all over... yep, Alfredo is tapping out! Submission win for Storm.
