Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Genaro Petty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baron Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Genaro Petty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Baron Rock!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock throws a series of punches but Petty moves out of range.

Rock looking to score a takedown here. Petty is defending well but Rock drives through and ends up in Petty's guard.
Rock is looking to stand up but Petty won't let him.
Petty trying to control the position.
Petty has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rock must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rock wants to control from the top but Petty keeps moving.
Petty really is a fat lump.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rock working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Petty has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Rock is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Petty's half guard.

Rock tries to pass to full mount but Petty defends it.

Petty is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rock is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rock thows a huge punch but Petty dodges it nicely.

Rock stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Petty to get to his feet.

Rock throws a sloppy head kick and Petty moves out of range easily.
A combination from Rock does no damage.

Rock shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Petty manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Petty wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rock tries to free his leg and advance position but Petty is retaining full guard.
Petty wants to stand but Rock is controlling the position.
Rock wants to control from the top but Petty keeps moving.

Petty pulls Rock in to control the position.
Petty is trying to control the position but Rock postures up.

Rock drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Petty manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rock has Petty in his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baron Rock dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Rock looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Petty!

Baron Rock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Petty kicks Rock off and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rock lands in his opponent's guard.

Petty scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Rock attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Petty half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Rock takes the fight into the clinch.
Petty keeps control of Rock as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Petty manages to break the clinch.
Rock tries a head kick but it misses.
Petty drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rock sprawls and moves away.
Petty throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Rock fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Petty to the ground. Rock is now in Petty's guard.

Petty pushes Rock off and gets back to his feet.
Rock is breathing heavily.

Rock darts in and clinches Petty up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rock wants the takedown. Petty is fighting it off but Rock persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Petty's guard against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Petty controls Rock momentarily but Rock frees himself.

Petty is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Petty's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Baron Rock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rock closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Petty's guard.

Petty has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rock is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Petty pulls guard successfully.
Rock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rock wants to pass the guard but Petty is keeping the position.

Petty looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Rock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rock lands in his opponent's guard.

Petty is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rock presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Petty's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rock closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Petty quickly recovers to half guard.
Genaro Petty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Petty is staying active underneath Rock, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Petty keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Petty manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Rock keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Petty breaks the clinch.
Rock misses with a body shot.
Petty appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Petty gets caught napping as Rock dives in and scores a takedown. Petty manages to retain guard.
Petty is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rock dives into side control.
Rock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Petty controls the position for a moment.

Rock decides to stand back up.
Rock misses with a body shot.
Petty changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Petty tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rock defends well and Petty ends up having to push Rock into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Rock decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Petty is positioning himself well to prevent Rock advancing to mount.
Petty is looking for a sweep. Rock is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rock perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rock thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Petty's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rock wants to work for an arm triangle but Petty is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Petty has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rock is working away from the top position though.
Petty has his hands clasped together around Rock's back. He's all about the action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Petty pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Petty gets tackled into the cage by Rock. Rock maintains the clinch.
Petty wants a takedown.

Rock jumps guard.
Rock looking for a sweep. Not yet Rock, not yet.
Rock looking to control.

Rock looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Petty passes into half guard.
Petty thows a huge punch but Rock dodges it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Genaro Petty.
I think Petty has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
