Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Joshua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddie Adam!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joshua scores with a jab to the head.


It looks like Freddie Adam has been cut.
Joshua slips a jab from Adam.
A shot to the body from Adam misses

and Joshua counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Joshua would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Joshua has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Adam throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Joshua won't allow Adam to sweep him here.
Adam keeps trying to improve his position.
Adam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Adam is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Adam throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joshua gets to his feet. Adam looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Adam walks into a left hand.
Good standup being displayed there by Joshua as he connects with a hook.
Joshua thumps Adam with a low kick.
Adam looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Nice uppercut there from Joshua.
A head kick by Adam misses
and Joshua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Adam takes one to the chin there.
Adam shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Joshua but Joshua pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A jab from Adam misses.
Joshua jabs Adam right on the nose. Adam blinks but takes it well.
Adam dives in and grabs Joshua's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joshua pushes down on Adam's head and hops out.
Joshua seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Anthony Joshua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddie Adam.
Adam misses with a combination

and Joshua counters with a takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Joshua stands up.
Joshua scores with a punch to the head.


That has opened up Freddie Adam's cut even more.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joshua displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Adam.
Joshua smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Adam doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Joshua counters with a nice uppercut.
Adam has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Adam there as he acknowledges the shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Joshua darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Adam gets a double leg takedown into Joshua's guard.
Joshua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Adam is one step ahead there.
Joshua pulls Adam in close to prevent any damage.
Joshua on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Joshua tries to get out of the position.
Adam lands a couple of digs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Adam passes Joshua's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Joshua controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Joshua trying to control but Adam postures up.
Adam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joshua keeps working.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Adam missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Adam wants to take a breather but Joshua is having none of it.

Adam is working for a submission of some sort.
Adam trying to control the action but Joshua is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joshua tries to roll over but Adam keeps him under control.
Adam slips a nice elbow through Joshua's hands, connecting with Joshua's forehead.


It looks like Anthony Joshua has been cut.
Adam working over Joshua with some ground and pound. Joshua looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adam is working for a kimura but Joshua is defending it quite comfortably.
Adam thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Adam is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Adam is thwarting Joshua's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Joshua dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action!


Adam is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Joshua.
Freddie Adam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adam shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Joshua sprawls well. Joshua wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Adam gets slowly back to his feet.
Adam shoots in for a double leg but Joshua sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Joshua lands with an overhand left.
The crowd cheers as Joshua lands an impressive looking overhand right. Adam doesn't seem phased though.
Adam misses with a takedown attempt
and Joshua cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anthony Joshua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddie Adam.
A punch combination from Adam misses.
Adam looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Joshua is fending him off so far but Adam persists. Nope, Joshua circles away and we're back to standing.
Joshua shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Adam eats them both and turns towards Joshua to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Joshua scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Joshua throws a good cross that connects.


The cut above Freddie Adam's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Adam is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Joshua wobbles Adam with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Joshua dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Adam to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Anthony Joshua!
Anthony Joshua tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
