Sobis drops Kruger with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kruger looks back up at him and smiles so Sobis waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Kruger goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sobis looks to land a body kick but Kruger moved away.

Sobis is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kruger, right into the meat.

Sobis feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kruger sprawling to the canvas! Kruger rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sobis finish him?!
Kruger fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sobis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sobis looks for the body kick but Kruger saw that one coming.
Sobis throws a shot from downtown. Kruger moves away and avoids it.

and Kruger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kruger throws a solid leg kick but Sobis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kruger.
Kruger uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Sobis has time to react.

Kruger turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Kruger misses with a shot to the body
and Sobis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kruger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sobis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kruger scrambles back to his feet.
Sobis throws out a leg kick but Kruger moves out of range and Sobis only half commits.
Sobis misses with a wild body shot.
Sobis pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sobis avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sobis tries to clinch but Kruger is having none of it.
Sobis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kruger manages to avoid it.
Kruger swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Sobis scores with a one two! Kruger had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kruger, as that shot connected.
Sobis has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Sobis has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kruger went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Kruger might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Kruger has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Sobis pounces like a tiger and cracks Kruger with a vicious hook! Kruger is down but not out! Sobis follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
