Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jefferey Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Severn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jefferey Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Martin misses

and Severn counters with a single leg into guard. Martin didn't expect that.

Severn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Martin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Severn has Martin in his guard.


Severn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Severn controlling the position.

Severn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Martin is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Severn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Severn is working an open guard so Martin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Martin dives in and grabs Severn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Severn pushes down on Martin's head and hops out.

Severn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Martin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Martin has escaped and now he's on top!

Severn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Martin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Severn.
Severn takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Martin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Martin stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Martin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Severn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Martin defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Jefferey Martin will probably get the nod.

Martin misses with a takedown attempt - Severn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
