Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cruz Dominiguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brad Pickett!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pickett moves into range and clinches up with Dominiguez.
Pickett tries a body shot but Dominiguez blocks it.
Dominiguez leaning against his opponent.
Pickett stalling in the clinch but Dominiguez improves position.
Pickett lands an elbow just above Dominiguez 's eye.
Dominiguez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pickett is looking to control Dominiguez's arms but Dominiguez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Pickett has his back to the cage.
Pickett doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pickett trying to control the position but instead, Dominiguez has worked for underhooks and has pushed Pickett into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dominiguez has hold of one of Pickett's legs. Pickett is fighting the takedown attempt but Dominiguez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Dominiguez stays in close to Pickett's body and controls the position.
Pickett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dominiguez engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Pickett has his foot on Dominiguez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dominiguez works his way back into a safe position though.
Dominiguez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The referee asks Dominiguez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dominiguez prefers to stall for the moment though.
Dominiguez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dominiguez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dominiguez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dominiguez takes a little break here. Pickett wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dominiguez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pickett for as long as he can get away with.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Dominiguez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pickett can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pickett is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Dominiguez.

Dominiguez has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Pickett has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Dominiguez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Pickett's body.

Dominiguez has managed to slip his arm under Pickett's chin. This could be all over... yep, Pickett is tapping out! Submission win for Dominiguez.
