PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spurt Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wang Chung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wang Chung told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Spurt Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wang Chung!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Reynolds does no damage.
Chung with the counter takedown but Reynolds avoids it easily.
Chung walks into a straight right hand from Reynolds.
Chung shoots for a double leg takedown but Reynolds sprawls well. He's pushed Chung's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Chung manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reynolds on his heels. He'll look to pass Reynolds's guard now, I'm sure.

Chung got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reynolds has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chung has managed to get both his arms back between Reynolds's legs - danger averted.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chung isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Reynolds stacks Chung on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Reynolds!

Reynolds lands with a nice combination. Chung backs away looking to recover.
Reynolds connects with a body shot that sends Chung's belly button to the back.
Chung goes for a double leg but Reynolds avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Reynolds continues to drive forward.

Chung feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
