Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Krejzi Kure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Rodrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kure might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to BIG SHUG - who's hard. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Krejzi Kure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pablo Rodrigo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rodrigo on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Nice jab there from Rodrigo.
Rodrigo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rodrigo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kure throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kure takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rodrigo throws a jab but it's blocked by Kure.
Kure is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Kure takes a jab right on the kisser.

Kure closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rodrigo quickly recovers to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kure throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kure seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rodrigo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kure postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kure drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kure jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kure won't allow Rodrigo to get back to his feet.

Rodrigo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kure wants to control from the top but Rodrigo keeps moving.

Rodrigo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kure defends well.
Kure throws an elbow that misses. Rodrigo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kure's guard. Nice move by Rodrigo!

Kure bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rodrigo's guard.

Kure has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kure accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rodrigo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Krejzi Kure dominated that round.
That's time! Kure's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rodrigo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rodrigo cracks a nice hook into Kure's ribs.
Kure will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kure ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rodrigo throws a jab but it's blocked by Kure.
Kure looks for a takedown but Rodrigo sprawls well.
Kure takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Krejzi Kure has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kure takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kure seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Rodrigo throws a series of strikes that have Kure backpedaling.

Rodrigo is looking to stand up but Kure isn't so interested in that idea.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kure connects with a nice short shot to Rodrigo's temple.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kure cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kure takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Rodrigo wants to try and get back to his feet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Krejzi Kure!
An out of breath Krejzi Kure thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Pablo Rodrigo was interviewed post fight and said 'I'll be back'.
