Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hong Bentley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Mossungue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberto Mossungue will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hong Bentley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Mossungue!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mossungue shoots in for a double leg but Bentley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mossungue fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bentley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Mossungue fails with the takedown.
Mossungue connects with a leg kick. Bentley looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Mossungue throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bentley.

Mossungue has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bentley off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Mossungue throws a sloppy head kick and Bentley moves out of range easily.

and Bentley moves into the clinch.

Mossungue jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bentley walks away with a smile on his face. Mossungue gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mossungue slaps away a takedown attempt from Bentley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mossungue will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mossungue moves into the clinch successfully.
Mossungue tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mossungue on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Bentley is pressed up against the cage. Mossungue has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bentley down to the mat. Bentley avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mossungue fails with a takedown attempt.
Mossungue looks winded!

Bentley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bentley lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Bentley escapes and gets back to his feet.
Mossungue tries to clinch but Bentley moves out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Bentley misses the target.

Bentley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mossungue was covering up waiting for the punch and Bentley finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bentley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Bentley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Mossungue misses with a takedown

and Bentley counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Bentley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mossungue shoots in for a takedown but Bentley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mossungue shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bentley sprawls well. Bentley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mossungue gets slowly back to his feet.

Mossungue fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bentley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bentley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mossungue is fending him off so far but Bentley persists. Nope, Mossungue circles away and we're back to standing.
Mossungue looks to score with a jab to the body but Bentley is just out of range.

Mossungue is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bentley stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Nice takedown defense from Bentley. No joy for Mossungue on that attempt.
Mossungue is breathing heavily.
Mossungue darts in looking for a takedown but Bentley gets double underhooks and turns Mossungue into the cage.

Mossungue tries to circle away but Bentley has him pinned against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mossungue is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bentley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bentley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hong Bentley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bentley trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Bentley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mossungue napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bentley is staying tight to Mossungue's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Mossungue is looking to regain half guard here but Bentley keeps moving and retains side control.

Bentley has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bentley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bentley wants it to stay on the feet.
Mossungue rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bentley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bentley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mossungue on his heels. He'll look to pass Mossungue's guard now, I'm sure.

Bentley stands and steps away. Mossungue gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bentley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mossungue tries to avoid it but Bentley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mossungue to the ground. Mossungue escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mossungue dives in and grabs Bentley's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bentley pushes down on Mossungue's head and hops out.
Bentley lands a right hook to the body.
Roberto Mossungue is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bentley cracks Mossungue with a right hand to the side of the head.

Bentley bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Bentley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mossungue has escaped the position, nice work there.

Bentley has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mossungue tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bentley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bentley controls the position from side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hong Bentley showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bentley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
