Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Le Carre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhys Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pierre Le Carre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rhys Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Carre keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown but Le Carre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Edwards keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Edwards changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Le Carre displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Edwards.
Pierre Le Carre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rhys Edwards.

Le Carre gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Le Carre is on top in guard.

Le Carre throws an elbow that misses. Edwards uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Le Carre's guard. Nice move by Edwards!

Edwards tries to free his leg and advance position but Le Carre is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Edwards drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Le Carre dives on top into guard.


Edwards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Le Carre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Le Carre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Le Carre lands a couple of elbows.
Le Carre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Edwards is looking for a triangle but Le Carre pushes his legs off easily.
Le Carre throws a strike but Edwards rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Le Carre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Edwards on the ground.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Le Carre scores with a jab. Edwards acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Edwards shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Le Carre pinned against the cage. Le Carre gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Le Carre throws out a loose jab but Edwards uses good head movement to avoid it.
Le Carre throws an overhand right that lands on Edwards's shoulder, as Edwards tries to avoid the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've been told by Le Carre's head coaches at Harambe Remembrance Hall that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Edwards displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Le Carre throws out the jab.
Edwards is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Le Carre scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Edwards bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pierre Le Carre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Le Carre moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Edwards shoots in looking for a takedown but Le Carre manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Edwards's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Le Carre cracks Edwards on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Edwards falls backwards against the cage. Le Carre follows up with more strikes that drop Edwards to his knees. Le Carre keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Edwards! This one is all over!

In defeat, Rhys Edwards stepped up to the mic, saying 'i would have to work harder than this. i truely deserved to lose today my opponent was juse too good'.
