Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eron Barreto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones pushes Barreto away with a front kick.
Jones misses with a kick to the body.

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Barreto is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.
Barreto manages to get to full guard.
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Barreto has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Barreto won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Barreto wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.

Jones wants to stand and escape but Barreto is having none of it.
Jones wants to sweep here but Barreto controlling him for the moment.
Barreto throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barreto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Barreto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Barreto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jones looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Barreto with a flurry of punches that miss.
Barreto landing with the ground and pound.
Jones is trying to control the position but Barreto postures up.
Barreto pushing down on Jones's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Barreto stalling.
Barreto seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Barreto is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barreto connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Jones is staying active underneath Barreto, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Barreto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Barreto dives into side control.

Barreto throws a strike aimed at the side of Jones's head but Jones avoids it well.
Barreto remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Barreto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barreto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barreto to the mat! Barreto manages to get full guard.

Jones is sitting in close to Barreto's body. Barreto has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jones is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jones is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Barreto.
