Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Erik Lara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lewis Mcintyre !
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintyre misses with a wild combination.
Mcintyre throws a combination. Lara tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Erik Lara has been cut.
Mcintyre with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mcintyre gets a clinch.
A right hand to the body from Mcintyre .
With the fighters up against the cage, Lara throws an elbow but misses.
Lara jumps guard but Mcintyre stands there with Lara around his waist. Lara gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lara with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mcintyre .
Lara throws a punch but it's blocked by Mcintyre .
Mcintyre wants the takedown. Lara is fighting it off but Mcintyre persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lara's guard against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mcintyre gets to his feet - Lara follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcintyre tries a head kick but it misses.
Mcintyre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lara moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mcintyre closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lara is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lara misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lara with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Lara looking to throw knees to the head but Mcintyre is blocking nicely.
Mcintyre blocks an elbow strike from Lara.
Mcintyre has clasped his hands together around Lara's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Mcintyre tries for a kimura but Lara is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Lara's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lara is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mcintyre is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mcintyre controls the position from side control.
Mcintyre stands up.
Lara takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lara is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mcintyre shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Lara is on queer street and Mcintyre is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Lewis Mcintyre !
