Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Machio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaska Jalovaara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jalovaara goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Machio went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Jalovaara lands a right hook to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jalovaara accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jalovaara is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Machio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jalovaara defends it easily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jaska Jalovaara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machio tries to clinch up but Jalovaara circles away and keeps his distance.
Jalovaara unleashes a big counter combination but Machio bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Jalovaara fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Machio looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Machio moves out of range of the strikes.
Jalovaara is looking to land body kicks.
Machio attempts a counter takedown but Jalovaara avoids it well and moves away.

Jalovaara shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Machio napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
