Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chase Schuldt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Kannberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kannberg has chosen Pavement: 'Date with IKEA' as his entrance music. Scott Kannberg has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chase Schuldt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Scott Kannberg!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kannberg misses with a body kick.
Schuldt misses with a head kick.

Kannberg shoots in and bounces Schuldt off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Schuldt kicks Kannberg off and gets to his feet.
Kannberg looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Schuldt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schuldt scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schuldt throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Kannberg takes one on the button.
Schuldt lands a body shot.
Kannberg has his takedown stuffed
and Schuldt counters with a one-two to the body.

Kannberg shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Schuldt is trying to defend but Kannberg finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kannberg in particular looking to stall.

Kannberg takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Schuldt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, if Kannberg is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Kannberg is looking for a kimura but Schuldt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kannberg to get the leverage.

Kannberg wants to get back to his feet.
Kannberg thows a huge punch but Schuldt dodges it nicely.

Schuldt closes the distance and clinches.
Kannberg is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Schuldt is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kannberg will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Schuldt up against the cage.

Kannberg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schuldt misses with a head kick.
Sloppy strikes from Schuldt. Those never looked like landing.
Schuldt circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kannberg changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schuldt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kannberg wants to stand but Schuldt has his arm trapped.
Schuldt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kannberg on the ground.
Schuldt tries to improve position but can't.
Kannberg trying to control the position but Schuldt is working away.
Kannberg cracks Schuldt with a big right hand but Schuldt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Schuldt dominated that round.
That's time! Schuldt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Schuldt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Schuldt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kannberg swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Schuldt lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kannberg's sensitive parts.

Kannberg has Schuldt up against the cage in a clinch.
Schuldt gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kannberg.

Kannberg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Schuldt fails with an attempt to clinch.

Schuldt takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kannberg gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Kannberg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Schuldt with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Schuldt is trying to maintain the position but Kannberg is very close to passing his half guard.

Kannberg tries to pass the half guard into mount. Schuldt knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Schuldt is staying active underneath Kannberg, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Chase Schuldt is winning the standup battle so far.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kannberg is defended easily by Schuldt.
Schuldt throws a right and a left that Kannberg avoids nicely.
Kannberg shoots in for a takedown but Schuldt shows good takedown defense.

Kannberg lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kannberg stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Schuldt circles away from the clinch attempt.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chase Schuldt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Schuldt swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kannberg is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Schuldt is defending well.
Kannberg changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Schuldt fights it off and pushes away nicely.
