Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Do Hoo Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Wehmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Do Hoo Jung!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Barney Wehmer!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jung closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wehmer to the mat! Wehmer manages to get full guard.

Wehmer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jung doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jung manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wehmer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jung controls the pace.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jung has gone for a leg lock! Wehmer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jung's guard.


Wehmer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jung has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wehmer has managed to get both his arms back between Jung's legs - danger averted.

Jung had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wehmer defends it easily.

Jung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wehmer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wehmer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jung is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wehmer pulls his head out easily.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wehmer lands a nice short elbow.
Wehmer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jung with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wehmer wants to pass to mount but Jung is defending the position.
Wehmer is nestled in close to Jung, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jung is defending against the submission attempts here by Wehmer.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wehmer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Wehmer chips away with some ground and pound.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jung is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wehmer is trying to get an arm triangle but Jung is defending well.
Jung is looking to regain half guard here but Wehmer keeps moving and retains side control.
Jung is trying to control Wehmer's posture but Wehmer avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jung is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Wehmer is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Jung tries to reverse the position but Wehmer maintains control.
Wehmer connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Wehmer avoids the attempt from Jung to control.

Wehmer has hold of Jung's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jung manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jung is looking to get to half guard.
Jung is squirming around, avoiding Wehmer's attempts to control the action.

BOOM! Wehmer connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Oh Jung is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wehmer looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
A nice elbow there by Wehmer.
Jung is trying desperately to improve position.
Wehmer looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Jung covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

In his post fight interview, Barney Wehmer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
