Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, William Arrol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arrol throws a leg kick that is checked
and Ruden makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Arrol checks a low kick from Ruden.
Ruden stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Arrol.
Arrol scores with a jab to the jaw.


It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.
Ruden lands a jab to the head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Arrol is leaning against Ruden and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Ruden escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arrol fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Arrol cracks Ruden with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Arrol walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ruden.
Ruden shoots in and drives through. Arrol sprawls well.
Ruden has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Arrol avoids the body shot from Ruden.
Arrol tries to clinch but Ruden is having none of it.
William Arrol is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Arrol lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ruden tries to move into range but Arrol moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Arrol clobbers Ruden with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A slapping leg kick lands for Arrol.
Ruden tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Arrol tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ruden was well out of range. Poor timing from Arrol.
Arrol ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruden moves away.

Ruden misses with a straight left.
Arrol lands with a right hand.


That has opened up Joe Ruden's cut even more.
Arrol sizes up Ruden with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Arrol throws a leg kick which misses Ruden's front leg but catches the back leg as Ruden tries to avoid it.
Ruden lands a really nice looking cross but Arrol seems unphased.

Arrol throws a chopping leg kick but Ruden manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Arrol scores with a decent looking hook.
Arrol looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Arrol slips a jab from Ruden.
Ruden misses with a wild body shot.
Arrol moves in looking to clinch but Ruden pushes him off.
Ruden shapes to counter with a head kick.
Arrol is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ruden tries to move into range but Arrol moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A chopping leg kick lands by Arrol.
Arrol connects with a right hand. Ruden shakes it off.


The cut above Joe Ruden's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ruden changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arrol tries to avoid it but Ruden manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arrol to the ground. Arrol escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
William Arrol has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Ruden.
Arrol connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ruden. Ruden circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ruden throws a nice inside leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Ruden. Those never looked like landing.

Arrol jabs at Ruden's body.
Arrol moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Ruden is rocked!


Joe Ruden's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Ruden decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruden looks winded!
Arrol is positioning himself well to prevent Ruden advancing to mount.
Ruden seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Arrol keeping hold of Ruden's head, controlling as best he can.
Arrol is looking to improve his position.
Arrol is controlling Ruden's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Ruden is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Arrol sees it coming and defends easily.
Arrol keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Ruden wants to pass the guard but Arrol is defending well.
Arrol keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Ruden has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ruden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arrol doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ruden.
Arrol is holding on to half guard well.
Arrol blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ruden.
Arrol is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ruden's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruden's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Arrol doesn't manage to clinch there - Ruden circles away.
A slow jab from Arrol misses its intended target.
A clash of legs there as Ruden blocks the low kick.
Ruden avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Arrol scores with a jab to the head.
Arrol lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ruden throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looked like Arrol wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Arrol misses with a low kick.
Ruden swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ruden takes one to the chin there.
Ruden misses with a straight right.
Ruden doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arrol fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ruden.
Arrol throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Arrol moves into the clinch successfully.
Arrol scores with a shoulder strike.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joe Ruden's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). William Arrol!
William Arrol spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
