PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Rockhold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enok Jepsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Enok Jepsen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Rockhold!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Enok Jepsen!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockhold takes one on the button.
Jepsen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Rockhold slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A slow jab from Jepsen misses its intended target.
Jepsen moves in looking to clinch but Rockhold pushes him off.
Jepsen misses the jab.
It looked like Rockhold wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Rockhold throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Jepsen to counter with a crisp jab.
Jepsen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rockhold has time to react.
Rockhold walks into a stiff left hand from Jepsen.
Rockhold misses with a right hand
and Jepsen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jepsen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jepsen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A jab lands there for Rockhold.


It looks like Enok Jepsen has been cut.
Rockhold misses with a hook
and Jepsen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rockhold swings widly with a right hand
and Rockhold takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rockhold is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jepsen.
Jepsen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jepsen tries to clinch there but Rockhold circles away.
Jepsen slips under a jab from Rockhold.
Rockhold throws a lazy uppercut
and Jepsen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rockhold throws a hook but Jepsen blocks it.
Jepsen lands a glancing blow to the side of Rockhold's head.
Rockhold takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Rockhold steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jepsen.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jepsen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rockhold.
Rockhold takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jepsen scores with a hook to the body. Rockhold takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Jepsen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jepsen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rockhold momentarily.
Rockhold throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jepsen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jepsen lands with a straight right. Rockhold didn't see that one coming.
Rockhold misses with a lunging right hand
letting Jepsen counter with a right hand.


Rockhold is rocked!
Rockhold throws a poor cross that misses

and Jepsen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rockhold tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Jepsen working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Oh Rockhold is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rockhold misses with a short punch on the inside.
Rockhold seems to have got his legs back now.
A short uppercut from Jepsen.
Jepsen lands with a light punch inside.

Jepsen breaks from the clinch.
Rockhold takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Jepsen cracks Rockhold with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Jepsen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rockhold to stand back up!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rockhold throws a hook but Jepsen avoids it easily.
Rockhold is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rockhold waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jepsen.
Donk. Jepsen catches Rockhold right on the button with a cross.
Jepsen drops Rockhold with a big left hand! Rockhold is injured, injured bad! Jepsen jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Enok Jepsen!
Enok Jepsen is the new middleweight champion!
After winning the bout, Enok Jepsen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
