Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Carmody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Pavano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pavano is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Trash Tongue Talker. Hugo Carmody could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Micky Pavano's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmody tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Carmody tries to move into range but Pavano moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like Hugo Carmody has been cut.
Pavano lands with a hook. Carmody tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pavano closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Carmody quickly recovers to half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pavano working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Carmody holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Carmody's coaches at GWad's Playpen have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Pavano looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carmody with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Pavano creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Carmody sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Pavano goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carmody rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pavano's guard! Nice work there by Carmody!
