The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpatrick lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kilpatrick misses with a kick to the body.
Idowu misses with an uppercut. Kilpatrick saw that one coming.
Kilpatrick lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kilpatrick throws a head kick that misses
and Idowu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kilpatrick gets a clinch.
Kilpatrick is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Idowu is defending well for now.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Idowu is trying to pull guard but Kilpatrick turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kilpatrick misses with an elbow strike.
Kilpatrick is pressed up against the cage. Idowu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kilpatrick down to the mat. Kilpatrick avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kilpatrick throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Idowu takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kilpatrick connects with a leg kick. Idowu looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Idowu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Idowu with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Idowu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Idowu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kilpatrick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kilpatrick is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Abobomination Training that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Idowu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Idowu shoots in but no luck this time.
Kevin Kilpatrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Prince Idowu.
Kilpatrick fails in his attempt to clinch.
Idowu looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kevin Kilpatrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Idowu throws out a loose jab but Kilpatrick uses good head movement to avoid it.

Idowu closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kilpatrick did well to prevent Idowu getting side control.
