Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Del Rivara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Del Rivara has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Del Rivara !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wade Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Rivara misses its intended target.
Wallace changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rivara throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A jab from Rivara does it's job there.
Rivara lands with an uppercut that bounces Wallace off the cage and back into range.
Rivara misses with the combination.
Wallace tries to counter with a clinch but Rivara shakes him off and moves away.

Wallace closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rivara to the mat! Rivara manages to get full guard.
Rivara is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wallace dives into side control.

Rivara wants to control but Wallace postures up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rivara manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Rivara is looking for a sweep. Wallace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rivara knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground.

Wallace perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Wallace takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wallace gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Rivara looks to land a right hand but Wallace moved out of range.
Wallace looks for a takedown but Rivara sprawls well.
Rivara looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wallace tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rivara manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rivara lands a nice looking body shot.
Rivara misses with a series of wild punches.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wallace looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rivara is fending him off so far but Wallace persists. Nope, Rivara circles away and we're back to standing.
Del Rivara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wade Wallace.
Rivara looks to land a combination but Wallace avoids it well.

Wallace slips a jab and a cross from Rivara .

Rivara closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rivara creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wallace sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Wallace tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rivara wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Wallace is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rivara is aware though and is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Del Rivara dominated that round.
That's time! Rivara 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wallace changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rivara tries to avoid it but Wallace manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rivara to the ground. Rivara escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rivara bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Wallace sneaks out the side door and pushes Rivara away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Rivara is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wallace can do to turn this around?
Wallace throws a head kick that Rivara semi-blocks.
Rivara throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rivara has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Rivara tries to bum rush Wallace with a series of wild strikes but Wallace uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Del Rivara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wallace.
Rivara throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Wallace counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wallace.

Wallace drags the fight down to the ground.
Wallace avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Wallace has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Rivara is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Sloppy strikes from Rivara . Those never looked like landing.

Wallace dives in and grabs Rivara 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rivara pushes down on Wallace's head and hops out.
Rivara was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Wade Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Wallace tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rivara sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wallace somewhat.
Rivara shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wallace as he jumps to the side.
Rivara throws a series of punches but Wallace moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on Wallace's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Wallace is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rivara sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rivara is trying to drag Wallace to the mat but Wallace just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rivara connects with a couple of short punches.
Rivara wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving.

Rivara throws a big elbow that misses.
Rivara looking to sit in guard and control but Wallace gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wallace slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

I think Wallace has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
