PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stig Helmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsoko Chikatchawan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chikatchawan has chosen Animal as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tsoko Chikatchawan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

As Chikatchawan tries to get set, Helmer tries to push him back and clinch up but Chikatchawan manages to avoid the attempt.
Helmer moves away from the strike by Chikatchawan.
Helmer drops down looking for a counter takedown but Chikatchawan sprawls and moves away.
Chikatchawan attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Helmer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chikatchawan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Helmer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chikatchawan is just riding it out for now. Helmer eventually gives up the hold.

Chikatchawan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Helmer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Helmer is looking for a kimura but Chikatchawan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Helmer to get the leverage.
Chikatchawan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Helmer thows a huge punch but Chikatchawan dodges it nicely.
Helmer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Let's hope that Chikatchawan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Helmer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chikatchawan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Helmer.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Chikatchawan is continuing to stall.
Helmer moves into full guard.
Chikatchawan wants to control from the top but Helmer keeps moving.
Helmer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Chikatchawan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Helmer throws his legs up looking for a submission but Chikatchawan uses it to pass to side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Tsoko Chikatchawan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Chikatchawan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Helmer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Helmer shoots in but Chikatchawan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Chikatchawan drops Helmer with a big left hand! Helmer is injured, injured bad! Chikatchawan jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tsoko Chikatchawan!
Tsoko Chikatchawan seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
