Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nerius Knatauskas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devonte Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devonte Harris is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nerius Knatauskas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Devonte Harris!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knatauskas.
Harris throws a counter combo.
Harris fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Knatauskas fails to land the takedown.
Knatauskas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harris's waist but Harris gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Knatauskas off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nerius Knatauskas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knatauskas shoots in for a double leg but Harris sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Harris has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Harris tries for a takedown but Knatauskas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Knatauskas doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Harris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Harris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knatauskas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris shoots in for a takedown but Knatauskas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Harris looks winded!

Harris shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Knatauskas manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Knatauskas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Knatauskas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Knatauskas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Knatauskas trying to strike off his back.
Harris is looking to stand up but Knatauskas won't let him.
Harris looking to sit in guard and control but Knatauskas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Harris looking for a guillotine here but Knatauskas defends easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Harris can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Knatauskas trying to control the position from guard on top but Harris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Knatauskas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Harris has control of Knatauskas's left arm, preventing Knatauskas from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knatauskas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harris lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Knatauskas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Knatauskas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Knatauskas is trying to control the position but Harris postures up.
Harris wants to get up but he can't break Knatauskas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Harris throwing strikes but missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Knatauskas keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Knatauskas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Knatauskas.
Knatauskas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harris paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Harris stuffs the takedown.
Harris tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Harris moves into range and clinches up with Knatauskas.
Harris is trying to pull guard but Knatauskas turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Harris wants to take the fight to the mat but Knatauskas manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Knatauskas drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Harris goes for a takedown attempt but Knatauskas pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devonte Harris dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Horrible takedown attempt by Knatauskas or perhaps it was just good defense by Harris, which made it look bad.
Knatauskas doesn't manage to clinch there - Harris circles away.
Nerius Knatauskas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice sprawl there from Knatauskas as Harris shoots in.
Knatauskas appears to be looking for a big counter.
Knatauskas shoots in but Harris avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Knatauskas has a takedown stuffed.

Knatauskas shoots in looking for a takedown. Harris tries to sprawl out of it but Knatauskas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Harris throws out a counter right but Knatauskas avoids it with no problem.
Harris is breathing heavily.
Knatauskas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harris defends well and Knatauskas ends up having to push Harris into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Knatauskas checks the leg kick nicely there.
Knatauskas shoots in for a takedown but Harris shows good takedown defense.
Knatauskas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A nice side step and Harris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Knatauskas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Harris rushes Knatauskas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Harris pulls guard.
Harris wants to stand but Knatauskas is controlling the position.
Harris has Knatauskas pulled in close to control his posture.

Knatauskas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Harris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Knatauskas, into his guard.

Harris is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Harris is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Harris has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Harris landing with the ground and pound.
Harris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Harris is standing up over Knatauskas. Knatauskas looks to escape but Harris dives into side control.
Harris is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Knatauskas gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Knatauskas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Harris working for a submission but Knatauskas is keeping him at bay.
Harris controlling the pace for now.
Harris avoids the attempt from Knatauskas to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Knatauskas is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devonte Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Knatauskas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Knatauskas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harris steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Knatauskas.
Knatauskas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harris but Harris pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Harris. No joy for Knatauskas on that attempt.
Knatauskas sets himself, and Harris steps forward looking for the clinch! Knatauskas avoids it this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nerius Knatauskas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harris leaves Knatauskas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Harris clinches up against the cage.
Harris tries to pull guard but Knatauskas holds him up against the cage and eventually Harris drops back down to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knatauskas wants to break free but Harris has control.
Knatauskas has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Harris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Knatauskas.
Harris pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Knatauskas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Knatauskas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harris swivels and escapes.
Harris stuffs the takedown.

Harris closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Knatauskas pushes Harris off but Harris dives into side control.
Harris wants to stand but Knatauskas has his arm trapped.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Knatauskas!
Knatauskas in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Knatauskas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harris lands a big shot there that rocks Knatauskas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Knatauskas wants to hold on but Harris pushes him away.
Harris raining down hammerfists from mount.
Knatauskas is looking to improve his position but Harris isn't that keen on the idea.

Harris cracks Knatauskas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Knatauskas is in a horrible position here. Harris smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Harris with a couple of short strikes.
Devonte Harris has got the better of the ground game so far.
Harris is landing with some decent strikes but Knatauskas is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Harris breaks from Knatauskas's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Harris with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Knatauskas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nerius Knatauskas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Devonte Harris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Harris looking to control and managing it successfully.

Devonte Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
