PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antoni Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dead Man. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Blake.
Hong moves away from the strike by Blake.
Hong looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Blake throws an off balance right hand
and Hong counters with a thumping low kick.
Blake does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hong blocks the body kick.

Blake shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Blake was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Blake is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hong tries to buck Blake off but Blake is having none of it.

Hong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hong chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Blake can pounce on him.
Blake takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Hong shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Blake fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Blake scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Blake goes for a double leg but Hong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hong continues to drive forward.

Hong was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Hong's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Blake swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hong! But no joy.

Blake looks for the body kick but Hong saw that one coming.
Hong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Blake lands with a hook. Hong tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Blake scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hong doesn't seem bothered though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd cheers as Blake lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hong doesn't seem phased though.
