Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Bolivar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Black Stone Cherry - White Trash Millionaire . Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 3, fighting out of New York, Charles McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Pablo Bolivar!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bolivar blocks a head kick by McGuire.
Bolivar throws a body kick that misses.
McGuire swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bolivar looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

McGuire darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bolivar tries to get to full guard but McGuire has control of the leg.
McGuire thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bolivar's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire trying to control the action but Bolivar is working from the bottom.
McGuire takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McGuire has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

McGuire is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bolivar checks a leg kick.
Charles McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGuire pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
McGuire loads up on a big right hand but Bolivar slips the punch.
McGuire throws a head kick but Bolivar moves out of range.

McGuire ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bolivar moves away.
Bolivar cracks a nice hook into McGuire's ribs.
Pablo Bolivar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A frustrated look appears on Bolivar's face as he tries to break the clinch.

McGuire has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bolivar is trying to keep an underhook but McGuire manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bolivar's coach down at K.O.N.Y. was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bolivar's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
McGuire tries to clinch up but Bolivar circles away and keeps his distance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Charles McGuire will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bolivar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McGuire has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Bolivar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McGuire.
Bolivar is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down McGuire rather than just go for the knockout.

Bolivar lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
McGuire on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGuire takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McGuire doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

McGuire paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

McGuire darts in looking for a takedown but Bolivar gets double underhooks and turns McGuire into the cage.

It looked like McGuire wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

McGuire drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bolivar sprawls and moves away.

Charles McGuire is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
McGuire goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and McGuire decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bolivar's guard.

McGuire tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bolivar is able to avoid easily.

Pablo Bolivar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
