The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cold gets tackled into the cage by Nilges. Nilges maintains the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cold as Nilges tries to tie him up.
Nilges is trying to break free.
Nilges has had enough of the clinch but Cold keeps him there for the moment.
Cold lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nilges backwards.
Cold lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Cold lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nilges is looking to break free of the clinch but Cold has double underhooks.
Cold lands an uppercut.
Cold scores with a nice hook to the head.

Nilges is rocked!
Cold throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Oh Nilges is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cold lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Cold drops Nilges onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Nilges is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cold lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Nilges jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cold walks away with a smile on his face. Nilges gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nilges is breathing heavily.

Nilges gets tackled into the cage by Cold. Cold maintains the clinch.
Cold presses Nilges against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Cold pushes Nilges back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cold unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Nilges! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Cold is unloading with more strikes now! Nilges drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Merklan Cold!
Merklan Cold decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
