The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sokolowski moves into the clinch successfully.
Mooney prevents the takedown attempt.

Sokolowski jumps guard and drags Mooney to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Mooney scoring with punches to the head and body.

Mooney gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sokolowski throws a right hand that Mooney ducks under and follows up with a left that Mooney also avoids with ease.

Sokolowski clinches.
Sokolowski lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mooney backwards.
Mooney wants a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mooney ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mooney no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mooney can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sokolowski controls the pace.

Mooney pushes Sokolowski off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mooney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Mooney counters with a straight right hand.
Mooney looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sokolowski is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Sokolowski forces Mooney back against the cage and clinches.
Sokolowski is struggling to control the position.

Come on Mooney - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Mooney wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bertram Mooney. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mooney prevents the takedown attempt.
Sokolowski stops a takedown attempt from Mooney.

Sokolowski manages to pull guard.
Mooney is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Sokolowski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mooney defends well.

Mooney loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sokolowski wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mooney is now in half guard.
Sokolowski wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mooney missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

It looks like Bertram Mooney has been cut.
Mooney takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mooney stuffs the takedown attempt from Sokolowski. Sokolowski gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sokolowski moves into the clinch successfully.
Sokolowski wants a takedown.
Sokolowski has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sokolowski has Mooney pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mooney manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mooney is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sokolowski to keep the fight standing.

Sokolowski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sokolowski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mooney shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sokolowski defends it nicely.

Sokolowski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mooney was covering up waiting for the punch and Sokolowski finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mooney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sokolowski's guard.

Sokolowski working a defensive guard but Mooney manages to pass into side control anyway.
Mooney remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sokolowski is pushing Mooney's head away, looking to escape. Mooney manages to hold on to the position though.
Sokolowski tries to buck Mooney off but Mooney is having none of it.

Sokolowski seems a little lost for a moment, as Mooney dominates the positioning.

Mooney decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sokolowski to his feet.

Sokolowski darts in and clinches Mooney up against the cage.

Sokolowski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sokolowski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mooney, pushing him back against the cage.
Mooney is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sokolowski gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bertram Mooney. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mooney pulls guard.
Mooney looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mooney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sokolowski stands up over Mooney, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sokolowski wants to control from the top but Mooney keeps moving.
Mooney is looking to stand up but Sokolowski isn't so interested in that idea.
Mooney manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sokolowski manages to get himself to full guard.

Mooney controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mooney decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sokolowski, up you get!

A close second round but Otto Sokolowski will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Mooney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Sokolowski digs a good body shot into Mooney's ribs.

Sokolowski has closed the distance and engaged Mooney in a clinch.
Mooney tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sokolowski smiles and moves away.

Mooney closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mooney lands in his opponent's guard.

Sokolowski pushes Mooney off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Sokolowski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mooney walks away with a smile on his face. Sokolowski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mooney is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Sokolowski has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Sokolowski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sokolowski showed some decent athleticism there.

Mooney kicks off Sokolowski and gets to his feet.
Sokolowski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Sokolowski drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sokolowski is looking to advance position but Mooney has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mooney avoids the attempt from Sokolowski to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mooney controlling the pace for now.
Mooney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sokolowski is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sokolowski is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sokolowski is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Mooney has taken his back.
Mooney controlling the position well here. Sokolowski rolled but Mooney kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Sokolowski trying to get back to his feet but Mooney is in full control for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bertram Mooney.
I think Sokolowski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
