Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akamai Hoi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hoi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blood Red Sky. Timur Rubin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Akamai Hoi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Akamai Hoi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timur Rubin!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rubin throws out the jab.
Akamai Hoi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rubin cracks Hoi with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hoi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rubin's coach down at Gym Beam was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rubin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hoi misses with a straight left.
Rubin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rubin. Hoi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hoi seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Hoi delivers a nice body kick.
Hoi connects with a right hand. Rubin shakes it off.
Hoi seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Rubin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hoi in his tracks.
Hoi throws a lazy body kick

and Rubin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hoi won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rubin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hoi keeps working.
Rubin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Rubin cracks Hoi with a big right hand but Hoi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hoi prevents Rubin from improving position.
Rubin lands a decent elbow from side control.
You can see the frustration on Hoi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rubin throws an elbow but Hoi slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hoi is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rubin has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hoi gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Hoi is trying desperately to improve position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rubin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Rubin is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rubin breaks from Hoi's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hoi is rocked!
Hoi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Rubin.
Hoi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oh Hoi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Rubin! Hoi is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Timur Rubin!
Our winner, Timur Rubin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
