Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Redding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renji Abarai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redding's entrance music is Alive. A fine choice. Abarai has chosen Before I Forget as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Redding!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Renji Abarai!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abarai slips a jab and a cross from Redding.
Abarai avoids the body shot from Redding.
Redding keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Redding went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Redding circles away from the clinch attempt.
Redding misses with a hook.
Redding lands the left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abarai moves in looking to clinch but Redding pushes him off.
Abarai looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Redding moves out of range of the body kick from Abarai.

Abarai tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Abarai slips under a jab.
Abarai shoots for a double leg takedown but Redding sprawls well. He's pushed Abarai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
It looked like Redding wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Redding connects with a good right hand that stumbles Abarai. Abarai circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Redding definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Abarai shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Redding but Redding pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Abarai drops back looking for a leg! Redding is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Redding manages to kick Abarai off! Abarai jumps back into Redding's guard.

Abarai is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Abarai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Redding swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Abarai drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Redding manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Abarai has Redding in his guard.
