Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jakke Ruutu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr John Zoidberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruutu comes to the cage accompanied by 50 Cent - I'm Supposed to Die Tonight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoidberg's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ruutu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Zoidberg scrambles back to his feet.
Ruutu throws a hook but Zoidberg avoids it easily.
Zoidberg lands with a straight right. Ruutu didn't see that one coming.
Ruutu thows a left - swing and a miss!

Ruutu tries to sprawl but Zoidberg drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zoidberg connects with a nice short shot to Ruutu's temple.

Ruutu has his hands clasped together around Zoidberg's back. He's all about the action.
Zoidberg throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ruutu to regain full guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Zoidberg working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ruutu throws a sloppy head kick and Zoidberg moves out of range easily.

and Zoidberg counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Zoidberg dodges the punch combination from Ruutu.
Zoidberg moves in looking to clinch but Ruutu pushes him off.

Zoidberg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zoidberg winds up and cracks Ruutu with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ruutu tries to roll over but Zoidberg keeps him under control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zoidberg thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ruutu's head.
Zoidberg is taking a breather. Ruutu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ruutu is trying to get back to full guard.
Zoidberg seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
