Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Osvaldo Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Osvaldo Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez throws a right hand that Hunt ducks under and follows up with a left that Hunt also avoids with ease.
Hunt stuns Martinez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Martinez rushes Hunt and presses him up against the cage.
Hunt blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hunt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Martinez after a bit of a struggle.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hunt.
Hunt blocking some punches.
Martinez working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Martinez misses with a punch on the inside.
Martinez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Martinez crunches a lovely knee into Hunt's ribcage.
Hunt tries to score a body lock takedown but Martinez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hunt has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A head punch on the inside from Martinez fails to land.
Martinez misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Hunt gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Martinez wants to sweep but no luck.
We've been hearing good reports from Martinez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Hunt thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hunt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hunt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunt goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Martinez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hunt but great work by Martinez.

Hunt has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Hunt takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice uppercut there from Hunt.
Hunt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hunt misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Martinez counters with a slapping leg kick.

A lazy left from Hunt finds it's target.
Martinez misses with a straight left.
Hunt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Martinez.
Martinez has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Martinez there as he acknowledges the shot.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hunt makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hunt.
Hunt is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martinez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Osvaldo Martinez started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Paul Hunt spoke after the fight, saying 'vittu'.
