Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John King!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King clinches up with Smith and pushes him back against the ropes.

King lands a nice elbow.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King moves out of range of the body kick from Smith.
King throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.

King rushes Smith and presses him up against the ropes.
Smith lands a body shot.
King tries to stall but Smith uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Smith misses with the head strike.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Smith tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A head punch blocked on the inside by King.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Smith has King pressed against the ropes.
Smith tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

With the fighters up against the ropes, King throws an elbow but misses.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Smith.

King's coach down at The Iron Palace was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on King's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
King is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.

Smith throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Smith's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King pushes Smith back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
King lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

King drives through and clinches with Smith against the ropes.
King creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Smith throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily.

King throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot.
King digs a good hook to Smith's body.

King darts in and clinches Smith up against the ropes.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Smith scores with a head kick. King tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like John King has been cut.
King tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
King misses with a head kick.
Smith moves out of range of the body kick from King.
King wants to land a leg kick but Smith is out of range.
John King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Smith closes the distance and pushes King back into the ropes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smith goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

King is looking to control Smith's arms but Smith gets an underhook and turns him. Now King has his back to the ropes.
King controlling the action here for a moment.

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range.
King seems to have recovered his senses.
King misses with a wild body shot.
Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged King in a clinch.
King is trying to maintain a safe position but Smith gets an underhook and turns King into the ropes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King trying to stall but Smith improves his position.
Smith tries to stall but King uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Smith trying to control the position but instead, King has worked for underhooks and has pushed Smith into the ropes.
King lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Smith backwards.

The cut man is working on John King's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


King throws a right and a left that both miss.
King moves out of range as Smith throws a body kick.

Smith lands a head kick that bluckles King and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with Smith no doubt looking to push for a finish!

Smith connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of King's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked King - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Duncan Smith!
An out of breath Duncan Smith thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated John King had this to say: 'I'm humble in victory or defeat. This means that I need to go back, train & get better. I won't stand still. I'll be back!'.
