Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcin Held (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Hardcastle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardcastle has chosen "Fade (Reed Streets Remix)" By Kanye West as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcin Held!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duke Hardcastle!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Held closes the distance looking to clinch

and Hardcastle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Held's guard.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Hardcastle's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hardcastle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hardcastle should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Held wants to stand up but Hardcastle is controlling him.

Held is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hardcastle asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Held wants to get back to his feet but Hardcastle drags him back down.
Held tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Held really wants to buck Hardcastle off and get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hardcastle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hardcastle wants to finish this one by submission but Held is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hardcastle.
Held wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Hardcastle counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hardcastle showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Held is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hardcastle dives into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hardcastle tries for a kimura but Held is defending well.

Held wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Duke Hardcastle has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hardcastle decides to stand back up.
Hardcastle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hardcastle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hardcastle is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

and Hardcastle counters with a takedown into side control.

Held is trying to get back to his feet.

Hardcastle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Held, who protects the arm well.
Hardcastle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Held. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Held throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Hardcastle keeps the fight on the outside.
A little jabbing left from Hardcastle on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Held wants to clinch up but Hardcastle keeps it at a distance.
Hardcastle tries to counter with a clinch but Held shakes him off and moves away.

and Hardcastle counters with a series of strikes. Held will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've been told by Held's head coaches at Cozad Amsterdam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Held is looking to clinch.
Hardcastle changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Held tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Hardcastle counters with a shoot takedown. Held fights it but they end up in guard.
Held is looking to stand up but Hardcastle isn't so interested in that idea.
Held keeping full guard, as Hardcastle tries to pass.
Hardcastle seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Held manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Held swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hardcastle blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duke Hardcastle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Hardcastle's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Held is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Hardcastle sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Marcin Held has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Duke Hardcastle is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

After the fight, Duke Hardcastle was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
